March 28, 2006 It’s been a while and I know some of you have been wondering what’s going on, but not much to write about until now and boy is it exciting! I have tested at both speedways, Hickory and Motormile, which I will be competing at this year, plus tested at Friendship Speedway. All three went very well and I got a good feel for how these cars drive. I was nervous, but it seemed to be a natural transition for me. Don’t get me wrong, I spun at all 4 corners on each track I ran at, but did not touch anything. Hey, I was there to test and had to test all situations, right? Nah, hope that doesn’t happen very often to me. Anyway, I ran my first race of the season at Hickory Motorspeedway this past Saturday night and had a decent finish. I qualified 12th and finished the race 11th. I ran all the laps and kept all 4 corners on my car, so I was pretty happy. Not as happy as Dad was for that matter though. I can’t blame him; we worked all night before the race to prepare the car. I had no idea the amount of time that goes in preparing cars at this level. I’m use to the ole dirt cars that only need 4 tires and fuel…lets go racing! My next race is April 8, at Motormile Speedway in Pulaski, VA. We will be getting my schedule up on the site soon so you can check me out if you’re around.
