Earnhardt Enjoying the Perks of Pork

Kerry Earnhardt will carry the Pork Racing logo on his No. 13 Chevrolet for the fifth time this season as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series enters the Michigan International Speedway this weekend for the running of the Con-Way Freight 250. Earnhardt has certainly learned one of the perks of carrying the Pork Racing logos on his race truck. At two of the five races, Pork has been displayed on the race truck in the primary sponsor position and the local Pork producers from the area have joined the team at the race track to cook for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series garage area.

At the Lowe’s Motor Speedway event in Charlotte, North Carolina, Pork Producers from North Carolina and South Carolina introduced the NCTS garage area to their delicious Pork loin sandwiches when they cooked more than 1500 sandwiches and delivered them to NASCAR officials and team members. As the NCTS moved into the northeast for the event at the Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware the Pork producers from Virginia, once again arrived with their large grills and mouth-watering sandwiches for the garage area. The producers once again served more than 1200 sandwiches on race day.

“I think it’s great what the Pork producers add to our race team and to our series,” said Earnhardt. “They are a lot of fun to have at the race track and I think together we will have some great runs in the NCTS during the 2006 season.”

Earnhardt found great luck with the Pork logo on the side of his Chevrolet Silverado at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway where he earned the 11th starting position in the 36-truck field and finished in the 18th position. Earnhardt currently sits 25th in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver points following the June 9 event at the Texas Motor Speedway. The next event scheduled for the series will be on Saturday, June 17 at the Michigan International Speedway and the next event scheduled with the Pork producers will take place on September 16 at New Hampshire International Speedway.
